What is Saratoga Woods Swim Club?

A place where a neighborhood of friends meet to have fun, swim, talk, and watch their children grow up in a healthy environment.

Our swim team has been in existence for over 50 years. We have a history of coaches and parents working together to help our youth achieve their individual and team goals in a fun, yet hard-working environment.

Our swim team, which competes during the summer season, is for youths between the ages of 4 through 18. Daily practices run from mid-April through mid-July.

Saratoga Woods Swim Team is a member of the Junipero Serra Swim League. Our season culminates in mid-July with our Championship Meet, which in recent years has been held at De Anza College.

We have two professionally-trained coaches running our team. Both coaches have competitive swimming backgrounds.  They are supported by a number of assistant coaches, many of whom are former or current members of the team.

Our professionally-coached swim team fosters a healthy environment where children of all ages and abilities build self-esteem and a winning attitude for life. This is achieved through daily practice sessions, Saturday swim meets, team fun days, parent participation, and weekly achievement awards.

The Pool

Our large pool was renovated in January, 2015 and is surrounded by decking, lounge chairs, and tables with large umbrellas for pool side socializing in a relaxed setting. It also provides the proper competitive environment for our swim team members due to its 25-yard, 5 lane size, and provides additional benefits to our recreational swim members such as:

  • Dedicated adults only lane for those adults who wish to swim laps unhampered during open swim hours
  • Easy pool access for handicapped members
  • Larger sized steps with handrail down the center of the step in the shallow end of the pool to make entry easier for young children

Our lifeguards are on duty during the summer season to ensure our swimming policies are maintained for the safety of all swimmers.

Swim lessons

Our Qualified and Experienced Swim Instructors teach individuals of all ages in group or private lessons during the Summer season. Here are just a few of the reasons you might want to take swim lessons:

  • Introduce swimming to a young child
  • Need your child to be water safe
  • Update strokes and dive skills
  • Increase the efficiency of strokes and improve times for competitive swimming.
